Economic diplomacy: Morocco strengthens its role on the international scene

Economic diplomacy is now a fundamental pillar of foreign policy of the Kingdom of Morocco, the Minister of Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita said in the House of Representatives. According to him, the royal vision and the stability of Morocco offer many opportunities to strengthen international cooperation and support national economic actors.

To support this dynamic, the government has implemented several concrete measures, including the creation this year of a general management dedicated to economic diplomacy within the ministry, as well as the appointment of economic attachés in the majority of Moroccan embassies. These actions are part of the National Plan for Foreign Trade.

Bourita also underlined that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs constitutes a strategic channel at the service of economic actors, by taking advantage of the vast Moroccan diplomatic network, made up of around 110 embassies and 60 consulates. In addition, the training of diplomats now incorporates a reinforced economic component, via the Moroccan Academy of Diplomatic Studies.
