The Supreme Accounts Council called on political parties to submit their annual accounts within the legal deadlines, approved by an accountant, supported by all legal documents and documents, according to what is stipulated in legislative and organizational texts.

The Council also recommended, in its annual report on “verification of the accounts of the political parties and the examination of the validity of their expenses linked to public support for the financial year 2023”, the political parties to return support amounts of 21.96 million dirhams to the cash of the State, with regard to its postal, or which was considered not due to the results obtained in the previous electoral polls.

The report also provided for the support of the resources and expenditure of the parties with legal evidence and subject to the name of the party, and responsibility in accordance with the principles and accounting rules, according to the requirements of the general evidence of accounting standards, taking into account the physical condition stipulated in the unified accounting plan for political parties.

He stressed the importance of organizing targeted training courses for the benefit of political parties responsible for financial, administrative and accounting management, in order to facilitate their use of the unified accounting plan. He also called on a guide to accounting leaders and the adoption of a joint accounting information system between political parties, to enable them to more effectively exploit the unified accounting plan.
