The young prodigy of FC Barcelona Lamine Yamal, 17, extended his contract until 2031, the Catalan club announced on Tuesday.
According to the local press, the young player could become with this new contract one of the highest paid players in the workforce, with a salary that would gradually increase each year, according to its progression.
After a very high level first season at only 16 years old, where he had notably won the Euro-2024 with La Roja, the young left-hander crossed a new level in 2025 by asserting himself as candidate for the Ballon d’Or, with 18 goals and 25 assists in 55 games, and noticed performances in the Champions League.
His new contract, extended by six additional seasons, is the demonstration of the solidity of the Barça project, assures the Spanish champion. Trained at the Masia, the prestigious training center of the Catalan giant, Yamal had made his professional debut in 2023 at the age of 15, becoming the youngest player in the history of the club to start in Liga.
