Prime Minister Aziz Akhenouch, told the House of Councilors on Tuesday, that the government had launched, in the context of school support and the increase in school costs, “additional additional support” during the current academic season, because it targeted around 1.8 million families of more than 3 million and 100,000 children.
Mr. Akhenouch, during the monthly empowerment session on the subject of “public policy linked to the consolidation of elements of equity and social protection,” said that 48% of children were targeting women, stressing that this support will contribute to promoting and stimulating the education of the village girl.
The Prime Minister said that children-rural children formed approximately 61% of the beneficiaries of this support, adding that the percentage of students’ beneficiaries aged 6 to 20 has increased to around 75%.
With regard to the protection of the health of the mother and newborns, Mr. Akhenouch said that the government continued to pay family subsidies for new births, targeting approximately 42 thousand and 800 families until the end of January of the current year, with an amount of 2,000 dirhams for the first birth, and 1000 dirhams for the second birth, with a financial coverage estimated at 65 million dirhams.
He pointed out that this procedure is the responsibility of the optimal investment framework in family health, protecting pregnant women and developing medical examinations during pregnancy, while improving the interest of early childhood in an environment subject to medical supervision and encouraging recommended vaccines.
As for widows, the Prime Minister recorded that with the aim of exceeding low social security coverage in the ranks of this category, the number of beneficiaries of this system was doubled more than six times, compared to the number recorded at the end of 2021, which has not exceeded 75,000 widows.
In this context, Mr. Akhenouch pointed out that the number of widows currently benefiting more than 420,000 widows, of which 330,000 widows were not used before, in addition to more than 87,000 widows, which have around 97,000 orphaned children, stressing that social support will experience a gradual increase to reach 400 dirhams for each school of children by 2026.
On the other hand, and in the context of his examination of the government’s achievements to support the acquisition of the main housing, Mr. Akhenouch said that this qualitative process had obtained until the end of last April last April benefiting from more than 142,000 requests, underlined that 48,000 actual support operations were completed 63% have benefited from an amount of 70,000 dirhams (housing varying between 300,000 and 700,000 dirhams) Total estimated at 3.8 billion dirhams.
The Prime Minister concluded that “the social state project, as a point in real change in the life of the Moroccan family, will constitute a social system that supports Moroccans for the next contracts, and not only the measures with a limited impact for a year or two”, and will make direct support a lever for the required economic and social opinion.
