A message from President Al-Sissi to King Mohammed VI

This Wednesday in Rabat, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, welcomed his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, carrying a written message addressed to His Majesty the King by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, as indicated by Moroccan diplomacy.

Badr Abdelatty stressed the importance for Egypt to strengthen its relations with Morocco in various sectors. He expressed the wish to energize bilateral relations by organizing the mixed upper committee in Cairo and bringing together the coordination and consultation mechanism between foreign ministers in the two countries, according to a statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Egyptian Minister also praised the success of Egyptian-Moroccan business forumwhich was held on May 4 in Cairo with the participation of 148 companies, including 74 Egyptian and 31 Moroccan. He announced that a meeting of the mixed commercial committee will be held next October in Cairo.

The two ministers exchanged their points of view on several regional questions, including the situation in Gaza. In this context, Badr Abdelatty praised the chairmanship of the Al-Quds committee by the King of Morocco and the efforts of this committee to support the Palestinian cause, said the same source.

As a reminder, Nasser Bourita had met her Egyptian counterpart on the sidelines of the extraordinary Arabic summit in Palestine, organized on March 4 in Cairo.

Badr Abdelatty also made a working visit to Mauritania on May 26 and 27.
