The state of Kenya praised the management of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and noted royal initiatives for the benefit of development between African countries.
In a joint stattement Issued after his discussions, on Monday, May 26 in Rabat, with the minister of Foreign Affairs and African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Nasser Bouraita, the Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Republic of Kenya, Mousalia Modafadi, Royal Initiatives, Especially The Opportunity Provided by the Royal Initiative On The Coast, which Aims to Facilitate access to the Sahel states in the Atlantic Ocean by binding it to transport and communication networks in its regional environment.
Mr. Modafadi also welcomed the initiative of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, as part of the “Initiative of African countries of the Atlantic”, which aims to make this space a geophysical framework for cooperation and pragmatic consultation.
The joint declaration also said that Kenya “is considered a self-government plan, as the only sustainable approach to settle the question of the Sahara, and intends to cooperate with countries that share the same vision in order to activate this plan”.
In this context, “Kenya praises growing international consensus and dynamism led by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in support of the Auto-Governmental Plan submitted by the Kingdom of Morocco, because it is the only real, reliable and realistic solution to settle this conflict on the desert. »»
The two officials underlined “the exclusive supervision of the United Nations on the international political process and renewed their support for the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, in particular the resolution 2756 (2024)”.
The declaration concluded that the Kingdom of Morocco “expresses its assessment for Kenya’s recognition of continuous cooperation of Morocco with the Secretary General of the United Nations and its personal envoy, in order to advance the political process on the basis of the relevant resolutions of the Security Council. »»
The meeting of the two ministers is part of the framework of the new positive dynamism that relations between the two countries had known since President William Roto took power in 2022.
According to the two ministers, this dynamism in bilateral relations reflects a positive development and increasingly attached to all levels.
At the end of their meeting, the two sedans, Burita and Modafadi, signed bilateral agreements covering various areas of cooperation.
The two parties also agreed to program the first session of the mixed committee for Moroccan Kenyan cooperation, in order to define the legal framework regulating initiatives aimed at improving cooperation between the two countries, and to extend it to include various fields (commercial, socio-economic and cultural).
On the multiple side, the two ministers highlighted the importance of political consultations at the level of various forums and international organizations, in order to bring opinions on questions of common concern, in accordance with the principles of preservation of peace and respect for the sovereignty of states and their territorial integrity.
