A large social protection system is active in Meknes to support people in precarious situations, according to Yassine AFRANI, prefectural delegate of national mutual aid. On the occasion of the celebration of the 68th anniversary of this institution, he recalled that the prefecture has 15 authorized social protection establishments, 58 education and training centers, 12 crèches, 2 multifunctional centers, 13 structures dedicated to disability, 4 social assistance centers and a child protection center.
In 2024, more than 5.7 MDH were allocated to associations managing these structures, and some 9 MDH were mobilized for those active in the field of handicap. In addition, 36 income -generating projects were financed for an overall amount exceeding 2 MDH. This dynamic is part of a strategy of empowerment and inclusion of vulnerable populations.
The ceremony was marked by artistic services of children with disabilities, an exhibition of their productions, as well as the delivery of suitable equipment, in the presence of the governor of the prefecture, Abdelghani Sabbar. The event has also registered as part of the national launch of a disability awareness campaign, in partnership with the Ministry of Solidarity and UNDP Morocco, aimed at developing social representations and promoting an inclusive company.
