A team of Moroccan students won the Grand Prix of the Huawei ICT Innovation category 2024-2025, during the world final held in Shenzhen (China), from May 19 to 25. Announced by Huawei Maroc, in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, this distinction is a historic first for Morocco in this competition, which brings together the global talent of information and communication technologies (ICT).
According to a statement, “Moroccan performance was brought by the team made up of Ayman Amokrane, Maryeme Hassani and Ibrahim Lamrabet, all students at the Faculty of Science and Techniques of Errachidia, under the Moulay Ismaïl University”. Supervised by Professor Yousef Farhaoui, the winners have developed Novaor, “a digital solution for intelligent management of hospitals”. “Thanks to a decision -making aid system, NOVAOR makes it possible to reduce processing deadlines, to unclog care and to rationalize the allocation of resources, thus contributing to better coordination and optimized patient experience,” said the same source.
The laureates’ journey, since the launch of registrations in September 2024, at the national and regional selections, was praised by the international jury and the experts. For Huawei Maroc and the Ministry, this success devotes “the academic excellence of Moroccan universities”, as well as the commitment of the Chinese company, to work to “strengthen the integration of digital technology in university courses and to stimulate the spirit of innovation among young talents, in a logic of technological transformation and digital sovereignty”.
The two parties also emphasize that this consecration, “obtained in the face of teams from the largest international universities, testifies not only to the high level of preparation of Moroccan students, but also their ability to offer innovative solutions and with high added value”.
